Chocolate Joe-Pye Weed
Eupatorium rugosum ‘Chocolate’
A plant introduced from the Mt. Cuba Center for the Study of Piedmont Flora, in Delaware. This plant has a more dwarf habit and chocolate-purple tones to the leaves and stems. Blooms in late summer with white flowers which can be used for cutting, although this Joe-Pye should be used almost exclusively for its colored foliage rather than blooms.
