Prunus besseyi ‘Pawnee Buttes’
An introduction from the Colorado Plant Select® program. The fragrant white flowers appear in April and produce a heavy crop of black cherries in summer attractive to wildlife. The lustrous, green leaves turn a bright red and purple in autumn. Think of this plant as the groundcover form of our native sandcherry. Best in full sun to partial shade and tolerant of dry soils.
